It all started with the bogus personal foul penalty on the Ravens' Terrell Suggs for his late And that was that, right?
Not quite. Even though Brady kidded that, "Rodney's been fined more than any player in the history of the NFL, so I can understand why he's a little sensitive about cheap shots at the quarterback," according to the Boston Globe, he's not apologizing for whining to the official for a flag following the Suggs fly-by.
"I want the penalty call,'' said Brady. "I want 15 yards. I don't care whether they hit me or not, that's an advantage for our offense.'' He added with a grin, "I go hug the ref before the game, ask about his kids and stuff like that. I'm trying to get him on our side.''So, more cheating coming out of New England? Shocking.* As for the "Brady Rule," which was hastily implemented after Bernard Pollard ended Brady's 2008 season 15 minutes after it begun, its namesake isn't embarrassed by that either:
"Well, the 'Tuck Rule' was kind of associated, too,'' said Brady. "I'm sure all of the Jets fans love it. Rodney [Harrison] obviously does. Whatever they call it, they call it. "We don't make the rules, we just play by them, and I think we were on the fortunate end of a few of them this week. Other times, we haven't been. Like I've said, in the end, they probably all even out.''Like that one time ... well, there was that game ... um, okay, I got nothing. I can't remember the last time the Pats didn't get a call. Selective memory, no doubt.
Good news, however: the league told the Ravens that there would be no fines for lightly touching Brady.
* That's a joke. It's not shocking at all.
