Bollinger threw three touchdown passes -- each to a different receiver -- as the Tuskers thoroughly dominated the Las Vegas Locomotives, 29-15, on Wednesday in the second game for both teams in the UFL's inaugural season.
Former NFL kicker Matt Bryant, who once nailed a 62-yard boot while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, made three field goals for Florida (2-0), which started the game with a seven-play, 80-yard TD drive and never looked back.
The Tuskers led 16-0 at halftime, 22-0 after three quarters and by as many as 27 points in the fourth. Those details, however, were not the focus.
The Locos, as FanHouse reported earlier Wednesday, lowered ticket prices to $10 for all but premium seats.
The broadcast on VERSUS became even more fan-friendly, featuring a YouTube montage of Florida wide receiver Jayson Foster, who starred at Georgia Southern. The clips presumably were meant to highlight the type of talent in the league.
Still, Las Vegas played in front of sparse crowd for the second straight game at Sam Boyd Stadium, where fireworks blasted off during the national anthem and the coin toss was performed by UNLV and NFL star Randall Cunningham.
The fans, however, were treated to some on-field fireworks on both sides of the ball by the visiting Tuskers, who also racked up six sacks, forcing Las Vegas quarterback JP Losman to keep his head on a swivel all night.
As a result, Losman was outplayed by Bollinger, who fired four TDs passed in Florida's season-opening win over the New York Sentinels last Saturday. Just four days between games caused little harm.
The former starter for the New York Jets executed a well-designed play-action pass, finding Frank Murphy in the back of the end zone for a 7-0 lead just under four minutes into the game. After three field goals by Bryant forged the halftime margin, Bollinger found Chas Gessner for a 12-yard score late in the third and Taye Biddle midway through the fourth, a connection that provided the Tuskers' largest lead (27 points).
Sammy Parker had two TD catches for the Locos (1-1), who recorded a safety off a blocked punt by running back DeDe Dorsey, a play that finally got them on the board 36 seconds into the final quarter.
Las Vegas' lackluster play was not lost on coach Jim Fassel, who was caught on camera laying into his team -- albeit a break from his lectures aimed at officials -- during the halftime break.
"We have started poorly in both our games," Fassel said after the game, referring to the 14-3 deficit his club overcame in its season-opening triumph over the California Redwoods. "We have no continuity in the passing game. ... We just don't connect."
Las Vegas was outgained, 399-263, with most of its output coming when the game already had been decided.
