Unless you're a close family member or an ardent SMU soccer supporter you've probably never heard of Ryan Rosenbaum. Until now, anyway. On Wednesday night against No. 16 Tulsa, the SMU freshman scored a goal ... from roughly 95 yards out. That's a nine and a five. Not exactly how Rosenbaum planned it -- it looks like he was just clearing the ball out of his half -- but thanks to windy, wet conditions, the ball skipped over the goalkeeper's head for a 3-1 Mustangs lead. (They held on to win 3-2.)
Video after the jump.
As Yahoo.com's Chris Chase points out, it wasn't just Rosenbaum's first collegiate goal, it was his first shot on goal.
