Fed up with one of your players? Eyeballing a player on the wire, but don't know who to drop? So Long, Suckers examines a few players widely-owned that probably shouldn't be.Far from canceled, the T.O. Show suffered a nice little reprise this week, scoring a TD on an end around. In fact, all but one of our featured drops last week had nice little games, proving that patience is sometimes a virtue.
Today, however, we'll find some more obvious players that have no business sitting on your teams any longer, one of which is the player from last week that failed to rebound.
Fred Jackson, RB, Bills. This guy was a beast, averaging over 160 total yards in his first two games of the season. But soon after, Marshawn Lynch was back in the fold and Jackson's fantasy relevance started to dwindle. For a while he found his way into double-digit touches, but even that has fallen by the wayside. Now he's returning kicks and he hasn't caught a pass in three weeks. Oh, and did you realize he hasn't scored one rushing TD this season, even with the huge start to the year? He's still owned in 62 percent of Fleaflicker leagues, but that number should be sliced in half at the very least.
Chris Chambers, WR, Chargers. Mark this down as an obvious one, as Chambers was just released by the Chargers, but owners in the 36 percent of Fleaflicker leagues that featured Chambers on their team were deluding themselves anyway. His "big game" of the season was a four-catch, 39-yard affair that involved a TD catch. The rest of his season has seen five catches, 83 yards, and no other scores. C'mon guys, the Bolts showed you how it's done. Time to release him.
Willis McGahee, RB, Ravens. Check out the Fleaflicker graph featuring McGahee's usefulness on his player page. It's a roller-coaster ride that isn't going back up again. His last four games? Fifteen carries, 11 yards, no rushing TDs (he did score once in Week 4 on a pass reception). No rushing touchdowns after five in his first three games. Well, that's the fallout of the Ray Rice explosion. Even with those numbers, McGahee is owned in a remarkable 77 percent of fantasy leagues. Time to ditch him.
Marc Bulger, QB, Rams. Alright, 23 percent of leagues had a team hanging on to Bulger, presumably to get them through the tough bye weeks. Bulger has his bye in Week 9, so it's time to say goodbye. He couldn't even complete 50 percent of his passes or throw a TD in a win against the Lions. That should be all the indictment you need.
Larry Johnson, RB, Chiefs. This should be another obvious case, but even after last week's charade, Johnson remains owned in over half of Fleaflicker leagues. He might not play again this season, so feel free to cut him loose and pick up someone who will.
