The list of reliable, legit and valuable fantasy tight end options is shrinking with each injury. We still know who can and can't trust to an extent, but there is certainly a big plunge into uncertainty and inconsistency once we go past the usual suspects. In this odd year of ups and downs at the tight end position, it couldn't be more fitting that the once cast aside and left for dead Vernon Davis leads the way this week and perhaps for the remainder of the season.

Davis has shed the bust label and now he's even talking up a storm heading into Thursday night against the Bears. Surprisingly, I won't be shocked if he backs up all the smack. Yes, it's that kind of season.
Week 10 Fantasy Rankings: QB | RB | WR | TE | DEF | K | Sleepers

Where in the world has Antonio Gates been as of late? He's got just two TD's on the season and they both came in the same game. We should fully expect Gates to find the endzone and get it going this weekend against the Eagles. However, on the flip side - Brent Celek should also take advantage of the Chargers sore spot on defense and that's keeping the opposing tight end out of the endzone. Look for Celek to make it back-to-back weeks with a score. And as for the rest of the ranks...

1. Vernon Davis, SF vs. CHI
2. Antonio Gates, SD vs. PHI
3. Brent Celek, PHI at SD
4. Dallas Clark, IND vs. NE
5. Jeremy Shockey, NO at CAR
6. Tony Gonzalez, ATL at CAR
7. Kellen Winslow, TB at MIA
8. Visanthe Shiancoe, MIN vs. DET
9. Jason Witten, DAL at GB
10. Greg Olsen, CHI at SF
11. Zach Miller, OAK vs. KC
12. Heath Miller, PIT vs. CIN
13. Todd Heap, BAL at CLE
14. John Carlson, SEA at ARI
15. Dustin Keller, NYJ vs. JAC
16. Benjamin Watson, NE at IND
17. Fred Davis, WAS vs. DEN
18. Brandon Pettigrew, DET at MIN
19. Donald Lee, GB vs. DAL
20. Marcedes Lewis, JAC at NYJ
21. Tony Scheffler, DEN at WAS
22. Anthony Fasano, MIA vs. TB
23. Bo Scaife, TEN vs. BUF

• It's time to bump Tony Gonzalez down just a touch and that's based simply on the poor play from Matt Ryan as of late. It's a great matchup for Gonzo this week, so don't even consider benching him. The point being, he's just not Top 5 worthy this week.

• Kellen Winslow and Josh Freeman are on the same page. Winslow has emerged as Freeman's go-to-guy in this offense. Fun fact, is that the Dolphins are among the worst teams at stopping the opposing TE. Look for Winslow to build upon his chemistry from last week and produce another solid day for your team.

• It's certainly not wise to jump ship on Jason Witten, but we've been expecting more from a guy tabbed to be one of the top fantasy TE's around. Well, last week we saw the ball go his way a little more. He should find a few openings against the ailing Packers defense.

• All aboard the Brandon Pettigrew express. However, just make sure you don't get too giddy about playing the rookie. Sure, he looked solid last week, but faces a much tougher go of it in Minnesota this weekend.

• Lastly, one guy to keep an eye on this week would be Todd Heap. He's been rather quiet most of the season, but could benefit as a sneaky play against the Browns.
