Manny Pacquiao will dethrone WBO welterweight champion, Miguel Cotto, by unanimous decision on Saturday night to become the first fighter to earn a seventh title belt in as many different weight divisions, according to an EA Sports Fight Night Round 4 simulation.
In their matchup, scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Hotel, Pacquiao wins 10 of the 12 rounds by the score of 118-109, with the 10th being a 10-8 round in favor of the winner from the Philippines.
According to the simulation, Cotto's "defensive prowess and methodical approach to attacking Pacquiao's body kept the opening rounds extremely close," allowing the champion from Puerto Rico to rebound from losing the first round to take the second and third.
But Pacquiao swept the remaining rounds of the fight, "with his blinding speed, keeping out of range and forcing Cotto to keep moving forward" and to abandon his defense.
As a result, "Cotto leaves himself open," allowing Pacquiao's offensive aggression to take advantage.
Although Cotto continues to attack Pacquioa's body, his progress is hindered by the challenger's continued assault and his freshness down the stretch.
Conducted by Fight Night Round 4's all-new Artificial Intelligence system -- record, evaluate, adapt and learn (R.E.A.L) -- the approach simulates each fighter's traditional ring strategies and tendencies.
Built with adaptive logic, the system triggers fighters to change their tactics based on their success or failure throughout the course of a bout.
