When slotting fantasy football kickers, there are myriad factors which should be considered. After looking at all of them, I've determined my favorite option for Week 11 is Matt Prater. The Broncos are desperately in need of a win this weekend in a pivotal home tilt against the Chargers. With Kyle Orton banged up, expect the Broncos to try and shorten the game by running the ball and making short throws. These kinds of drives often end up stalling in the red zone. Only two teams have allowed more field goals this season than the Chargers, who have allowed 13 of their 16 field goals in 31 red zone trips. Predicting the top kicker for the week is the most difficult of any position because of all the variables that go into kicker points, but I'm rolling with Prater this week. 1. Matt Prater, DEN vs. SD
2. Stephen Gostkowski, NE vs. NYJ
3. Ryan Longwell, MIN vs. SEA
4. Mason Crosby, GB vs. SF
5. Nate Kaeding, SD at DEN
6. Nick Folk, DAL vs. WAS
7. John Carney, NO at TB
8. Lawrence Tynes, NYG vs. ATL
9. Matt Stover, IND at BAL
10. Rob Bironas, TEN at HOU
11. Neil Rackers, ARI at StL
12. David Akers, PHI at CHI
13. Jeff Reed, PIT at KC
14. Robbie Gould, CHI vs. PHI
15. Jason Hanson, DET vs. CLE
16. John Kasay, CAR at MIA
17. Shayne Graham, CIN at OAK
18. Josh Scobee, JAX vs. BUF
19. Kris Brown, HOU vs. TEN
20. Dan Carpenter, MIA at CAR
The top 13 or so are more of the sure bets and slotted according to several factors, such as kicking points allowed by opposition and factoring in the offense's likely ability to move the ball. From 15-17, though, we slot some juicy sleepers.
• Hanson is such an underrated kicker because he's been relegated to playing on terrible teams for much of his career. Against the Browns, though, he's got a good shot at seeing multiple field goals and extra points as the Lions' offense improves under Matthew Stafford.
• There are 27 kickers who have outscored Kasay this season, but the Dolphins have allowed more field goals than any other team (in fact, at 21, they have three more than the second-most allowed).
• There are 20 kickers with more fantasy points than Graham, but the Bengals are playing the Raiders. Oakland has allowed 18 field goals and 23 extra points. Plus, Graham is coming off a 13-point outing.
