The 'Mike Shanahan to Buffalo' talk is heating up.Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan met for seven hours in Denver with Bills chief operating officer Russ Brandon on Monday night and Tuesday morning.
"We had an excellent meeting," Shanahan told Schefter today. "I was really impressed with Russ Brandon and everything he had to say. We're going to stay in touch and see what develops."
According to Schefter, Brandon gave a persuasive pitch to Shanahan to try to convince him that the franchise would be the right place for him to return to the sidelines. Shanahan won't rush into taking the job -- and there are league rules that would prevent the Bills from rushing into giving Shanahan the job -- but the two sides are at least talking.
Shanahan was fired by the Broncos after coaching in Denver from 1995 to 2008. The Bills fired Dick Jauron last week and replaced him with interim head coach Perry Fewell.
