The Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets took part in a marathon shootout on Tuesday night which was ultimately won by the Blackhawks in the 11th round, giving them their ninth win in the last 11 games. One of the reasons the shootout went so long -- other than the outstanding goaltending from Steve Mason and Cristobal Huet -- was Andrew Ladd's potential game-winning "attempt" in the sixth round.

Not exactly how he had it planned in his mind, I'm sure. Since the Blackhawks ultimately won the game, he can now look back on his attempt and laugh. Plus, it's not like his attempt is the worst the NHL has ever seen in the shootout. That honor still belongs to Dennis Wideman from his days with the St. Louis Blues.
