Hear that, Peyton Manning owners? That's the clock ticking on your remaining time with your stud QB. The Colts are very close to resting Manning, which should happen once home field is locked up, and they have a three-game lead on the competition. Because both Cincinnati and San Diego (the two 8-3 teams) play each other, Indy actually has a four-game cushion for a first-round bye. Translation: enjoy Manning while you can.

I picked up Matthew Stafford and Ryan Fitzpatrick to go along with Eli Manning as backups to Peyton in our FanHouse league. If I should be so lucky, I can start Fitzpatrick in Week 14 (against the Chiefs), Stafford in Week 15 (against the Cardinals), and whomever is playing the best in Week 16.

Of course, I'll stick with Peyton this week.

The Dennis Dixon show is over, with Big Ben scheduled to return against Oakland. It's just an O.K. matchup for the Big guy, and I'd use caution when determining whether to depend on him this week.

With Kurt Warner playing on Sunday night this week, the only way you can wait on him is if you have Matt Leinart, who did nothing to inspire any confidence last week. You're better moving in another direction this week.

The Thursday night game was predictably a stinker for both QBs. Please don't go rushing out to the wire to add Kellen Clemens, even if Mark Sanchez's injury is more serious than advertised. Do go rushing out to add Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has a pretty sweet playoff schedule and could make a solid second quarterback for your team.

There's a big gap between No. 9 Philip Rivers and No. 10 Eli Manning, I feel. If you don't have one of the top nine QBs this week, you're going to have a tough time keeping up with someone who does.

Vince Young emerged from fantasy obscurity last week, having his best fantasy day ever (thanks in large part to an amazing 99-yard fourth-quarter drive). Don't get too caught up in Vinsanity just yet -- he has to take on the Colts this week, meaning his numbers should come right back down to Earth.
