The 2010 World Cup draw has been completed in South Africa. All 32 nations have been sorted into the eight separate groups that will compete in the opening round of play. (Teams in the same group play each other once, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the round of 16.)
The groups are key, as they give teams, countries and fans an early look at each side's chances of advancing. Quick analysis would say that the U.S. got a very favorable draw, as they'll face England, Algeria and Slovenia in the first round, none of whom are considered to be bona fide soccer powerhouses at present.
