New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards has developed a reputation in his career for being a big-play receiver, capable of making highlight reel catches. And sometimes he does. He also has a little problem consistently catching the routine passes. Fans in Cleveland know all about Edwards' ups and downs as a receiver, and on Thursday night, Jets fans had a nice encounter with the best Braylon has to offer, and the worst he has to offer. With the game tied, 3-3, late in the first quarter, rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez launched a pass down field to a wide open Edwards for what could have been an 85-yard touchdown pass. And that's when bad Braylon made an appearance.
After the game, Edwards explained what happened. Via FanHouse's Dan Graziano: "I didn't see it until the last second. It's definitely a blooper. It's probably going to be on 'Come on, Man!' on Monday Night Football. But it's just one of those things."
Edwards did end up getting the last laugh on the night, however, catching a 13-yard touchdown pass in New York's 19-13 win.
