Fourth and 26: Jennings Worth Playing

If you're looking for help in your deep league, the obvious attention of your affection should be Cleveland Brown running back Chris Jennings. He hasn't put up great numbers to date, but when opportunity knocks, sometimes that's all that matters in fantasy football. In his only extended action this season, Jennings totaled 74 yards on 15 touches (10 rushes, five receptions) against the Lions in Week 11.

A cake matchup earlier in the season, San Diego (Cleveland's opponent this week) has done much better against the run lately, now ranking in the middle of the NFL in that category. However, backs that receive double-digit carries are nothing to sneeze at, even if they do play for a terrible offense. I recommend adding him if available in your 14-team or deeper leagues.

Javarris Williams, RB, Chiefs. This one is a bit of a long shot, but he was activated from the practice squad in lieu of Kolby Smith hitting the IR. With Dantrell Savage also ailing, it may come down to just Williams and Jamaal Charles carrying the load for the Chiefs. Expect Charles to receive most, if not all, of the carries, but there's a chance Williams makes himself useful as well.

Lex Hilliard, RB, Dolphins. He had a couple of really nice plays in his first big action last Thursday, with his first run of about 20 yards being called back due to penalty, and his next carry going for about the same. The Dolphins may decide to integrate him into the wildcat offense a bit more, which would make him very useful in deep leagues down the stretch. He makes more of a speculative pick up at this point, but only if you have a roster spot to burn.

Andre Davis, WR, Texans. With Jacoby Jones not playing today, thanks to being late to a team meeting, Davis will fill his role on special teams and on offense. Considering the Texans are playing the easy-to-score-on Jaguar secondary, that's a great thing for Davis's prospects of a big game. David Anderson could also be worth your while, if you're in a desperate situation.

Brandon Gibson, WR, Rams. Yes, my old favorite is still only in two percent of Fleaflicker leagues, but as a starter for a team that spends most of the time behind, I feel he gets a consistent amount of targets and will be effective most weeks. Last week, Danny Amendola stole the show in PPR leagues with seven receptions, and he could also be a sneaky play against the Bears secondary.

Jabar Gaffney, WR, Broncos. Gaffney has recorded three receptions in each of his last two games, totaling over 100 yards in the process. He hasn't scored a touchdown this season, but since he's playing a pretty bad Kansas City secondary, he could be in line for a nice yardage total today. Denver's rotation at WR could leave any of their wideouts, including the disappointing Eddie Royal, with good days.

Sam Aiken, WR, Patriots. He'd normally have to split the third-receiver duties with Julian Edelman, but the converted quarterback has already been ruled out for the game against Miami. The Dolphins have been surviving at cornerback with a rotation of rookies and journeymen, and they've been a good matchup for WRs this season. With Aiken having the third-WR job to himself this week, he should provide a solid line.
