Studs and Duds: An AFC West Lovefest

Knowshon MorenoThe AFC West had a pretty big Week 13, aside from Kansas City, which lost to division rival Denver. But on top of the Broncos road win, San Diego won with ease and the Raiders pulled off a stunner in Pittsburgh. And on the strength of those performances, the division claims a couple spots in this week's edition of Studs and Duds.

Studs

Knowshon Moreno, RB, Denver
(21 carries, 86 yards, 2 TDs): Moreno has to share the game ball with his backfield mate, Correll Buckhalter, who pitched in 113 yards on 12 carries -- a ridiculous 9.4 yards per carry average. But it was Moreno who found the end zone twice, once in the second quarter, once in the fourth, as the Broncos moved one step closer to a playoff spot with a rout of Kansas City. Moreno's now rushed for 80 yards or more in each of the Broncos' last four games, and with four games left, needs 226 yards rushing to top the 1,000-yard plateau in his rookie season.

Bruce Gradkowski, QB, Oakland (20 of 33, 308 yards passing, 3 TDs): Extra credit to Gradkowski for getting the job done on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions. Gradkowski, who has effectively unseated JaMarcus Russell as Oakland's starting quarterback, led three fourth-quarter scoring drives against the Steelers, all three of them bringing the Raiders back from a deficit as they stunned Pittsburgh, 27-24. His final pass -- an 11-yarder to Louis Murphy -- came with just eight seconds left and dealt a huge blow to the Steelers' playoff hopes.

The Miami Dolphins: There were too many heroes to choose from in the Dolphins' thrilling 22-21 win over New England, so everyone gets some recognition. Dan Carpenter hit on 3 of 3 field-goal attempts, including the game-winner from 41 yards out with a little more than a minute left. Chad Henne threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns, while Devone Bess raked in 10 catches for 117 yards and a TD. And the defense slowed Tom Brady's bunch, with Channing Crowder picking Brady off in the closing seconds to secure the win.

Duds

Chris Redman, QB, Atlanta (23 of 44, 235 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs): Atlanta's technically still in the thick of the NFC playoff race at 6-6, but if Matt Ryan doesn't get healthy, you can forget it. Starting for the first time in two years, Redman -- who, to be fair, had to operate without star running back Michael Turner -- had no success moving the Falcons', tossing a pair of interceptions as Philadelphia ran out to a 34-0 lead. Redman finally found the end zone in the fourth quarter, hitting Roddy White for a meaningless score.

Team Discipline, Ravens at Packers: What was supposed to be a hard-fought battle between two desperate teams turned into a sloppy, penalty-filled disaster. The Ravens and Packers combined for the second-most penalty yards in NFL history (310), with approximately 155 flags being thrown for pass interference. As Baltimore receiver Mark Clayton told FanHouse's Dan Graziano after Green Bay's win, "I was like, 'We might as well keep throwing it up there, because either we're going to catch it or they're going to throw a flag.' "

Shaun Suisham, K, Redskins: This is probably unfair -- Suisham hit 3 of 4 field goals and all three of his extra points Sunday against New Orleans. But that miss ... oh, that miss. With Washington up seven in the closing moments of regulation, Suisham shanked a 23-yarder wide right, New Orleans marched the length of the field for a tying touchdown and then won in overtime. Suisham's punishment? He was cut Tuesday.
