On Monday, Redskins tight end Chris Cooley offered Tiger Woods refuge from all his troubles ... in his spare bedroom. Sure, Todd Yoder is the current occupant, but that's nothing a bunk bed can't fix. Cooley was joking, but during a DC radio appearance earlier this week he shared some serious thoughts on the perception that professional athletes' lives consist of work and sex with models and nothing else. I'll be honest, I figured it went something like that. Apparently not.
Via D.C. Sports Bog :
"It kills me, because I don't [womanize], Cooley told DC 101's Elliot in the Morning. "...Over the last couple weeks, I've listened to a ton of stuff on TV and on the radio that everyone's saying--well, women follow professional athletes around and women throw themselves at professional athletes. This is not true. I mean, it would be better if it was I guess, but this doesn't happen to me.
"Women don't just beg to have sex. I think I would believe [it's easier for athletes than bank tellers], but it's also 100 times easier--and every professional athlete should know this, and every celebrity should know this--it's a million times easier to get caught. I mean, the first thing a girl does when she sleeps with Tiger Woods is go tell everyone she knows that she slept with Tiger Woods. For professional athletes in relationships, it's gonna come out."
You mean like this? And that's what's so hard to comprehend -- how could Tiger be so smart when it comes to his day job, endorsement deals, and other business opportunities, but so colossally stupid about everything else?
When this guy is the voice of reason, it's probably time to reevaluate some of the decisions you're making. Then again, Cooley is a life coach, maybe he knows what he's doing.
