The Philadelphia Flyers continued their recent slump on Saturday night by dropping a 4-1 decision in New Jersey, losing for the 10th time in their past 12 games.

Rookie Niclas Bergfors scored a pair of power play goals in the first period to help lead the Devils, and his first tally of the night was an impressive coast-to-coast effort that saw him skate around a traffic cone wearing a Braydon Coburn jersey before beating goaltender Brian Boucher to give his team a 1-0 lead.

With eight points in his past 10 games, Bergfors is now second in the rookie scoring race with 22 points, trailing only John Tavares of the New York Islanders. The Devils are 8-2 over that same 10-game stretch.

The Flyers, meanwhile, have dropped all the way down to the No. 13 spot in the Eastern Conference with 29 points (tied with Toronto), while only the Carolina Hurricanes have a worse mark. They're still only four points out of a potential playoff spot.

Philadelphia is just 1-4 since firing head coach John Stevens and has a tough schedule coming up this week. After a trip to Boston on Monday night, the Flyers have a home-and-home series with cross-state rival Pittsburgh on Tuesday and Thursday.
