His best save of the night was a diving effort against New York's Ales Kotalik late in the first period to keep the game scoreless.
Of course, there's a little bit of luck involved here because Kotalik didn't elevate the puck, but that's still a highlight reel play from "the Moose."
Entering Monday's action, Hedberg was in the top-10 in both goals against average and save percentage. Thanks to his 46-save effort, his save percentage for the season jumped up to .932, which is by far the best mark he's ever had in his nine-year career. He hasn't finished a season with a percentage of at least .900 since the 2003-04 campaign when he played for the Vancouver Canucks.
Colby Armstrong and Slava Kozlov scored goals for the Thrashers in regulation, while Kozlov added the game-winner in the shootout to help Atlanta maintain its place in the top-six of the Eastern Conference standings.
The Rangers, meanwhile, continued their downward slide by losing their fourth in a row and are just 7-14-2 since their 7-1 start. The only bright spot of the season has been forward Marian Gaborik who scored his league-leading 23rd goal of the season.
