Stephen Colbert Sports Illustrated CoverStephen Colbert is a big fan of the Olympics. So big, in fact, that he and the Colbert Nation are sponsoring the US speedskating team. The result? More than $250,000 in donations for the once sponsor-less team.

And that led to this: Colbert's on this week's Sports Illustrated cover, an honor usually reserved solely for Michael Jordan, Brett Favre and Tiger Woods (slight exaggeration). Whatever, it's a pretty amazing honor for the host of the Colbert Report considering the few times (Chris Rock comes to mind) that a comedian/celebrity has graced the cover of SI.

More importantly might be SI's willingness to toss Colbert up there because it was a quick, relevant and easy side-step from the most obvious choice: Woods. After the jump, video of Colbert ruling his haters (Bob Ryan? Really, Bob?) and flaunting his appearance.
