At some point soon every person on the planet will have weighed in on the Tiger Woods scandal. And as women continue to come forward, and details emerge, I suspect we'll repeat process indefinitely. So there's that to look forward to. In the meantime, Donald Trump, Charles Barkley and Spike Lee are up. Trump appeared on Larry King Live to support the embattled golfer, and suggested that, in the long run, this will all blow over and Tiger's legacy will be about his on-course accomplishments, not his inability to be faithful to his wife.
"I really think Tiger should just go about his life, go to the tournaments, win the tournaments, play better golf than anybody else and just sorta let the rest take care of itself," The Donald told Larry's suspenders. "... He owes the public nothing. You know, Tiger was always known as a good boy. Maybe he should be known as the bad boy, Larry. Maybe the marriage doesn't work out, he goes with 5,000 women, he'll have one of the great times ... he'll win tournaments. ... And instead of having Disney endorsing him, he'll have casinos are someone endorsing him..."
Barkley and Lee, appearing on HLN's With All Due Respect, worry that Woods isn't consulting the people who could help him navigate the media minefields.
"You should reach out to your celebrity friends when things go bad," Barkley told The Associated Press Tuesday. "They're the only people who understand what it's like."
"I've been trying to get to him and can't get to him," Barkley said of Woods, who he hasn't spoken to since the golfer's Nov. 27 single-car accident. "It's very frustrating." Barkley said he just wants to tell Woods, "Hey, man, we love you. If you need anything, pick up the phone."
Lee added: "He's insulated ... If Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan can't get to him, and those are his boys, then other people are making bad moves."
