Every Friday, FanHouse sifts through the rubble and picks the best NHL fight, with the help of HockeyFights.com.

It isn't at all uncommon to see a good fight after a goal. The team that just gave one up is looking for an easy way to get some momentum back to their bench, and it's always nice when the opponent obliges. In this case, such a circumstance in St. Louis leads us to our top fight.

In other fight happenings, there are a number of high-quality regional rivalries in the NHL. One that doesn't get a ton of press is the Battle of Ontario, between Toronto and Ottawa. There isn't much love lost between these two teams, and that was certainly evident when they got together this week.

Letdown of the Week: Derek Boogaard vs. Brian McGrattan

You could have seen this fight coming a mile away. When Boogaard hit Brandon Prust, McGrattan had his excuse. Of course, the courtship lasted longer than the actual fight, which either ended when Boogaard stunned McGrattan with a right, or when McGrattan lost his balance. Depends on your perspective, I guess. Watch the video here.

Brian McGrattan Fight of the Week: Brian McGrattan vs. David Koci

This was a much better performance for McGrattan. These two exchanged some serious shots. The best might be around the 0:35 mark of the video, when McGrattan lands an uppercut that knocks off Koci's helmet. Check it out here.

Runner Up: Matt Carkner vs. Colton Orr

It's a good rivalry, but the luster has come off in recent years, as both franchises have seen their struggles -- especially Toronto. Carkner's 12th fighting major of the season was a decisive win in this bout, as he took Orr down with a heck of a punch. He should be proud, because not many people manhandle Orr like this. Watch it here.

Fight of the Week: Jean-Francois Jacques vs. B.J. Crombeen

After a Blues goal, the Oilers were looking for a spark. Jacques tried to give them that, as he and Crombeen hooked up for an entertaining bout. Jacques looked down and out a couple times early, but he recovered to get some punches in. Crombeen held his own, too.
