After benching Ales Kotalik and Wade Redden, the New York Rangers got a measure of revenge on the New York Islanders Thursday night. After the Islanders won 2-1 at the Garden on Wednesday, the Rangers took a 5-2 decision in the second game of a home-and-home between the two rivals.

Key in the game was a play that happened in the second period. Leading 3-0, the Rangers caught a break when goalie Henrik Lundqvist went for a walk. Nate Thompson got control of the puck, and he had a yawning net to shoot at.

What happened next is nothing short of hilarious, unless you're an Islander fan.

Ouch. How did he miss that, especially by as much as he missed it by? That wasn't even close.

The Rangers went on to a 5-2 win.
