After benching Ales Kotalik and Wade Redden, the New York Rangers got a measure of revenge on the New York Islanders Thursday night. After the Islanders won 2-1 at the Garden on Wednesday, the Rangers took a 5-2 decision in the second game of a home-and-home between the two rivals.Key in the game was a play that happened in the second period. Leading 3-0, the Rangers caught a break when goalie Henrik Lundqvist went for a walk. Nate Thompson got control of the puck, and he had a yawning net to shoot at.
What happened next is nothing short of hilarious, unless you're an Islander fan.
The Rangers went on to a 5-2 win.
