John Daly, Coat of Many Colors Give Tiger Advice

It's come to this: John Daly's sports jacket has weighed in on the Tiger Woods situation. The video is from last Friday but it's still pertinent because, well, LOOK AT THAT COAT.

Daly has lost more than 100 pounds since having lap-band surgery earlier this year, and it was the unofficial turning point in a career that had gone way off the tracks. Clearly, the quickest way for Woods to put all this behind him is to have the same surgery.

Actually, J.D. has a simpler, less invasive solution. "I just think he needs to be close to the people that have been there to support him," Daly told CBS' Harry Smith. One I would say, his mother ... she's probably the best advice that he could get from anybody. Get with his coach, get with his agent, get with his caddie and, you know, keep that team together and go play golf." I think the sooner he plays, the better this gets away from -- because as soon as he comes out he's probably going to win, and then everything's forgotten..."

Interesting. Seems that Steve Williams has gotten to Daly. Either that or he just disagrees with Rick Reilly on principle. Whatever, I think J.D.'s right: the sooner Tiger comes back the sooner the conversation is about his golf game and not everything else.

Daly also added, "I won't bug him, but if he really needs to talk to someone who cares about him, he can call me."
