During New Jersey's 4-0 win in Pittsburgh on Monday night Martin Brodeur set the all-time NHL record for shutouts, recording the 104th of his magnificent career.

If you happened to be watching the Fox Sports Pittsburgh broadcast of the game you would have picked up this exchange between announcers Paul Steigerwald and Bob Errey regarding a hit along the boards, Hobey Baker and "going down hard."

Errey: "The Hobey Baker winner went down ... real hard."

Steigerwald: Not as hard as Hobey Baker went down though, he went down in a plane crash."

Too soon!

Baker, the legendary American-born athlete who is a member of both the College Football and College Hockey Hall of Fame, was killed in a plane crash 91 years to the day (December 21, 1918). That's ... awkward.
