Albert HanyesworthIt may feel like the season is finished in Washington, but the team still has two games to play, and more practices to prepare. On Friday, Albert Haynesworth needed a reminder.

Jim Zorn sent the Redskins' $100 millon defensive tackle home from practice for disciplinary reasons. Haynesworth was late for a team meeting, according to two players who spoke to The Washington Post on condition of anonymity.

It hasn't been a sterling week for Haynesworth, who was fined $10,000 for his scuffle with Giants running back Brandon Jacobs on Monday Night Football. Let alone the stamina- and injury-related criticism he's faced since receiving $41 million in guaranteed money, the most in NFL history.

Friday, he dressed for practice despite coaches telling him not to go out. This did not go so well. Via The Washington Post:

Haynesworth and Zorn held an animated conversation for around 15 minutes while the team stretched and began practice on an adjacent field. Defensive coordinator Greg Blache briefly joined the meeting, not long before Haynesworth walkedback inside the team's facility. He soon drove away from Redskins Park.

It looked like the Redskins season would be defined by the worst play call ever conceived. But it continues to appear like the players, and not just the coach, have given up on the season. Things could get worse.

Despite his lame duck status -- or perhaps because of it -- Zorn took a disciplinarian angle on this one. Maybe it's just Dallas Week.

Zorn said Haynesworth will play against the Cowboys. But at this point, that's just a footnote at the end of a poor, dysfunctional season.
