Yusaf MackPhiladelphia light heavyweight Yusaf Mack will go after his sixth straight victory against former world champion Glen Johnson, of Miami on Jan. 30 in an IBF, 175-pound title eliminator bout at The Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

The 29-year-old Mack, who is the NABA titlist, takes a record of 28-2-2 with 17 knockouts into his clash with Johnson (49-13-2, 33 KOs), who turned 41 on Jan. 2.

The winner between Mack and Johnson will be the mandatory challenger for the IBF title, and should earn a shot at 27-year-old, IBF king, Tavoris Cloud (20-0, 18 KOs), of Tallahasse, Fla.

"This will be a strong boxing match. I want to prove to everybody that I am the best. I am in the best shape of my life. I have new people behind me, and I'm getting stronger and better," said Mack, in a statement.

"Hopefully, it will bring me a world title shot against Cloud, [IBO and WBC interim champ] Chad Dawson, or whoever steps up first," said Mack. "I want to fight the best opponent."

Mack-Johnson will be on the undercard of a matchup between 26-year-old WBC champ, Andre Berto (25-0, 19 knockouts), and 38 -year-old WBC super champ, Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), a highly-anticipated, welterweight (147 pounds) clash.

Mack earned the NABA crown with a unanimous decision over Daniel Judah in June of 2008, and has defended that crown twice.

Mack is coming off of May's fourth-round knockout of DeAndrey Abron, which was his third knockout in five consecutive victories since being knocked out in the seventh round by Librado Andrade in October of 2007.

Johnson is coming off of November's unanimous decision loss to Dawson.

"I think Glen is a good fighter, but he is passed his prime. He is old, and I am the one that will put him into retirement. I am taking this fight because this is a big step up for me, and this will show the world that I am the next man in charge of the light heavyweight division," said Mack, who is promoted by Lou DiBella.

"I want to thank my promoter, Lou DiBella, for this shot," said Mack, "and I will show the skills that I can beat the best out there.
