Colt McCoy made a bundle great memories at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium during a brilliant four-year career as the Texas Longhorns quarterback.McCoy added one more memory Monday -- this one hopefully lasting a lifetime -- when proposed to girlfriend Rachel Glandorf at the stadium in view of the huge HD Jumbotron. The screen read "Will You Marry Me?" when the two stepped onto the field.
When Glandford turned around, McCoy was down on one knee.
She, of course, said yes to put a bright spot on an otherwise difficult week for McCoy and the Longhorns. McCoy, a four-year starter for the Longhorns, was knocked out of Thursday's BCS National Championship game against Alabama after just five plays with shoulder injury.
The Crimson Tide went on to win 37-21 to thwart the Longhorns' bid for their first national title since 2005. Still, McCoy leaves as the NCAA all-time wins leader with 45 victories and one Big 12 championship.
