The Solheim Cup team is in Washington, DC today to meet the president, and thankfully, Natalie Gulbis is documenting the trip via Twitter. Here's a shot of the entire team, here's Gulbis at the U.S. Capitol, and above is another pic of Gulbis with Michelle Wie with the "Lincoln Memorial" in the background.
It looks a lot different than I remember.
To be fair, Gulbis isn't taking a geography test, she's tweeting about her trip to DC. Plus, if you put a top hat and one of those chin-strap beards on the Washington Monument it would look just like Honest Abe.
Or we could just blame it on the sorry state of public education in this country. Either way.
(Technically, the Lincoln Memorial is behind Gulbis and Wie. It looks like they're standing on the steps of the Capitol, facing east. Which means that, looking west, you can see the Washington Monument -- the huge obelisk in the background -- and behind that is the Lincolon Memorial. And if you follow the curvature of the Earth due west you'll hit Arlington, Front Royal, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Tokyo and Lisbon before making your way back to DC.)
