Nadal Gets a Proposal

Tennis fans are supposed to be quiet and restrained during matches, but one young lady yelled at Rafael Nadal during his Australian Open match with Lukas Lacko, and got Nadal to crack a smile and wave.

The female fan yelled out, "Hey Nadal, will you marry me?" And although Nadal ignored it at first, it eventually caused him to pause briefly and laugh.

I think the best thing about it is the way the TV announcers treated it like the most hilarious thing they've ever heard. And I think the fan, whoever she was, was awfully clever to make her proposal in English: Although it sounded to me like she had a Spanish accent, she knew that yelling to Nadal in English would get her more media attention. And it worked, getting her a mention in one of Australia's biggest newspapers and more than 100,000 YouTube views.
