The 2010 NBA All-Star reserves were officially announced Thursday, and seven of the 14 players honored will be going for the first time. Before reading these, remember that covering every position is a priority. More on that in a second. From the East: Rajon Rondo, Derrick Rose, Paul Pierce, Chris Bosh, Gerald Wallace, Joe Johnson, and Al Horford.
Playing the part of the West: Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Pau Gasol, Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Zach Randolph, and Brandon Roy.
That's a total of seven first-time All-Stars (Williams, Rondo, Randolph, Horford, Wallace, Durant and Rose), a good sign that there's new blood coursing through the league -- even if the fans haven't figured that out yet.
It's surprising not to see Chauncey Billups on there, but Deron Williams had to start racking these up at some point. The strangest snub has to be Josh Smith, whose spot appears to have been taken by undersized center and fellow Hawk Al Horford.
Giving credit where its due, although the league didn't officially make its announcement until Thursday evening, all of the names were leaked earlier in the day by Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears on Yahoo's Ball Don't Lie.
