On Thursday, FoxNews.com reported that Mancrunch.com, a gay dating site, was still waiting to hear if CBS would approve their Super Bowl ad. According to Mancrunch.com reps, "The 30-second spot shows two men excitedly watching the game, before their hands brush as they both reach into a bowl of chips. Suddenly, the two begin making out, much to the shock of a guy sitting close by." Today, CNBC.com's Darren Rovell tweets that "Mancrunch.com has just received a formal rejection of its ad from CBS."
Not to worry, though; thanks to the magic of YouTube, you can still see the commercial. Just be warned, it's a bit much -- sexual orientation aside, there's no way in hell a Vikings fan and a Packers fan would ever make out. (via KSK)
CBS also rejected another commercial, this one from GoDaddy.com that featured Danica Patrick and an actor portraying a former football player named "Lola." Rovell talked to GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons about CBS' decision:
Parsons said that he was told by the network that the ad could be seen as "offensive to a certain class of people." "I'm mystified," Parsons said. "We had five ads and the others easily slipped through."Actually, it's not mystifying at all.
