One of the best Super Bowl commercials of the 1990s featured Michael Jordan and Larry Bird playing a game of H-O-R-S-E in which they proved incapable of missing no matter how improbable their trick shots. Now McDonald's has updated that ad with another one that ran just before kickoff of Super Bowl XLIV.
The new commercial features LeBron James and Dwight Howard having a game of H-O-R-S-E of their own. Whereas the old Jordan-Bird ad featured Bird telling Jordan "no dunking," the new one shows Howard telling James that jump shots aren't allowed. And it even features a cameo appearance by Bird
Overall, it was a solid job by the McDonald's ad team at recreating a classic Super Bowl commercial.
