Monday night's Texas-Kansas matchup was underwhelming, sure, but despite some uninspiring basketball, and the Jayhawks' 12-point win, we glimpsed an oasis of awesomeness, courtesy of Kansas guard Brady Morningstar. With 3:48 to go in the game and the Jayhawks leading by 13, Morningstar stepped to the line to attempt a technical foul shot. Sounds ordinary enough until you actually watch what transpired.
Unintentional comedy video proof:
There is an explanation (other than "My brain momentarily lost the ability to communicate with my arms"):
"The ball was wet. It slipped on the way up. I was so confused. I could have caught it and came down with it, but I'd have stepped on the line. I tried to shoot a little jump shot so I didn't cross the line," Morningstar said.Mystery solved. In unrelated news, Tar Heels coach Roy Williams released a statement blaming the 2009-10 season on wet balls.
"I looked pretty stupid there," he added. "We laughed about it in the locker room just now."
