Fans of the Nature Boy could be seeing the legend back in the ring with TNA Wrestling and it could happen soon. That's what Ric Flair told HamptonRoads.com when asked if he'll be getting back in the ring.
"Yep," said Flair. "And probably sooner than later, much to my dismay. Things are happening quickly."
Flair retired from wrestling following WrestleMania 24 in 2008 where he lost a retirement match to Shawn Michaels. The following night on Raw, he received a special retirement celebration from the company.
But it didn't take long before the veteran got the itch to get back in the ring. Last year, he made his return to the squared circle in Australia as part of the "Hulkamania" tour where he faced Hulk Hogan in several matches. Earlier this year, he signed a deal with TNA.
Most think that when Flair dons the tights again, it will likely be against the Hulkster but he says that could happen -- just not now.
"The feud thing with Hogan will play out later," Flair said. "The story line right now is that they've made all these changes to be competitive, and I'm just a part of that."
"The Nature Boy" also went on to explain why he joined TNA in the first place.
"I just missed the business, and they created a very nice opportunity for me," said Flair. "They really are in the right mold, and they have the money to create a good product. They're going to get really better in a real short period of time. And I'm excited about the chance to be a part of that."
