Brian Butch, former Wisconsin Badger and current D-League All-Star for the Bakersfield Jam, had quite the weekend. One day after helping Dar Tucker win the D-League Dunk Contest by being dunked over at seven feet tall, Butch won D-League MVP honors in the 2010 NBA D-League All-Star game at Jam Session with 18 points on seven of 12 shooting and 13 rebounds.
Butch was efficient at both ends of the floor in what was for the most part a tightly contested game until the fourth, with both teams exerting maximum effort with both scouts and the added exposure on them. There were very few of the missed alley-oops likely to pervade Cowboys Stadium tomorrow.
Butch is a great story for the D-League, a replacement All-Star and his team's only representative. FanHouse talked with Butch after the game about his weekend and what the D-League has done for him.
