DALLAS -- Overall, the Slam Dunk Contest was one of the weakest in recent memory: Shannon Brown was a let down, and Gerald Wallace barely bothered to show up, so it was left up to DeMar DeRozan and Nate Robinson to save the day.
And DeRozan almost came through.
Sure, Robinson's T.O. act with the pompoms and his off-the-backboard reverse in the final round sealed it, but think about this: had DeRozan saved his second dunk of the night for the final round, he probably would have ended up taking home the trophy.
Since DeRozan's second slam -- one that started with a pass off the side of the backboard from Sonny Weems and ended with a windmill at the front of the rim -- was the only one that received a perfect score of 50 from the judges, that's the one we're hyping in the space below. Enjoy.
