Vince McMahonThe newest WWE series 'NXT' is set to debut next Tuesday night on SyFy. WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has said that the show would be the 'next evolution of not only WWE, but of television itself'. McMahon spoke with Variety and shared some details about the new program.

'WWE NXT' -- which stands for Next Generation -- will be a reality based program that will feature up-and-coming talent. Fans will be able to watch them both in front of the camera and behind the scenes as they develop into stars.

The show will feature eight rookies that will be brought up from Florida Championship Wrestling which is the company's developmental group based in Tampa, FL. Those eight will be paired with eight current stars that will act as mentors.

"This is an opportunity to show another side you've never seen," said Vince McMahon. "By putting them into this environment we'll find out if they can make it. There's no better way to develop skills than being in front of an audience. And that makes for good television."

'WWE NXT' will be split into two or three seasons each year. Once a talent graduates from the show, that person will then be moved to either the Raw or Smackdown brand.

This show will replace ECW which will air its final show tonight in SyFy. Its ratings had been dropping and McMahon decided it was time for a change.

"ECW feels old, it feels tired," McMahon said. "Sometimes our brands need freshening up. You have to continue to reinvent yourself.

As for the young talent that will be featured on 'WWE NXT', PWInsider.com is reporting it will include Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson who has worked for various promotions including Ring of Honor), Kaval (formerly known as Low-Ki), Joe Hennig (son of 'Mr. Perfect' Curt Hennig), Brett DiBiase (the son of 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase and brother of current WWE superstar Ted DiBiase, Jr.), Justin Angel, Heath Slater, Michael Tarver, Darren Young and Skip Sheffield.
