You often see fantasy players overrated the year after they blow up in the playoffs. Occasionally, those players still come through, sometimes with bigger seasons than you expect. Take Brent Celek last year. Will today's Man of Intrigue, Pierre Garcon, fall into the overrated category or the breakout category?

If you just look at Garcon's season stats, there isn't that much to get excited about. He gained 765 yards and scored four TDs, numbers that in normal circumstances you'd just dismiss. He only caught as many as six balls in a game twice, and that was also the two games in which he broke the 100-yard barrier. He didn't play in either of the team's last two regular season games.

Garcon's first playoff game was more of the same: five catches, 34 yards, no scores. What he did the next week in the AFC Championship game is what earned him MOI status. With Darrelle Revis shutting down No. 1 WR Reggie Wayne, Garcon exploded for 11 catches, 157 yards and a touchdown, playing an integral part in the Colts' come-from-behind victory.

Garcon would add five catches, 66 yards and another TD in the Super Bowl loss to the Saints. He finished the postseason with 21 catches, 251 yards and two TDs.

The inevitable return of Anthony Gonzalez has put Garcon's fantasy breakout status in doubt. Remember, Gonzalez was supposed to be the Colts' new No. 2 WR before an injury sidelined him for the entire season. What does his return mean for Garcon?

The short answer is: "nothing." The 23-year-old Garcon established himself as an integral part of the offense during the playoffs, and it will be extremely difficult for Gonzalez to waltz into the starting lineup and have the same kind of success Garcon enjoyed in 2009.

Dynasty-league owners of Garcon have nothing to worry about in 2010. As the third option in the passing game (behind Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark), Garcon should enjoy about 65-70 catches, 900-1,000 yards and 6-8 TDs. His memorable postseason will likely cause people to reach pretty high for Garcon in 2010 redraft leagues, but if his mediocre 2009 stat line scares owners away, pounce on the potential breakout.
