Kenny Williams Isn't a Fan of Ozzie Guillen's Twitter Page

There was quite a bit of buzz in the Twitterverse on Tuesday night when the world found out that Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen had started his very own Twitter account. Guillen has quickly picked up over 5,800 followers as I write this, and that number is likely to keep on growing.

That is, if Guillen's allowed to keep it.

White Sox general manager Kenny Williams was not informed of Guillen's plans beforehand, and had to find out from members of the media about his manager's foray into the world of social media. Williams, who has always tried to keep the actions of the White Sox as close to the vest as possible, doesn't seem too pleased with his manager's decision.
Williams was first sent a text asking him to comment on the fact that his say-anything manager had opened a Twitter account for himself on Tuesday night.

"Are you serious?'' was his reply.

Then when asked about it in person, Williams' reply?

"No comment ... and make sure you write that it is a no comment with a headshake from side to side.''
As you'd expect him to, Guillen had his own response to his general manager's concerns.
"Listen, I'm a grown man,'' Guillen insisted. "A lot of people think I do stuff without thinking or talking to people. Any information out there, I'm not stupid enough where I will say, 'We're going to make a move today.' All of a sudden it's in a tweeter from Ozzie. That's not the idea. I'm not going to give fans the message before I give it to the media, it's never going to happen. The Twitter is like what I am doing today, have fun with it. It's all personal.''
Personal things, like expressing how boring spring training is, or wondering why Jermaine Dye doesn't have a job.

Besides, if Williams is so concerned about White Sox business being aired in a public forum, he sure does have an odd way of going about it. Let's not forget the White Sox have agreed to be the focal point of MLB Network's The Club -- a television series that will follow the White Sox front office around this season and begin airing in the summer.

There were rumors that Guillen's sons were the men behind his Twitter curtain, but they've all denied any involvement, insisting that it is the man himself manning the tweets.
