The big Canada versus Russia game is on at 4:30 p.m. PT, so all in search of a post-celebration venue should check out the finale of the W2 Real Writers Series tonight at 7:00 p.m. PT at 112 West Hastings Street. This is your last chance to witness quality storytelling while rubbing elbows with Vancouver's biggest names in writing and publishing.

Some celebrated guests include Vancouver Poet Laureate Brad Cran, Giller Prize nominee and Journey Prize winner, Timothy Taylor, and Steven Galloway, author of the celebrated novel, The Cellist of Sarajevo. The W2 finale will be hosted by Hal Wake, the Director of the Vancouver International Writers Festival.

Rhonda Waterfall will be another highlight - the young writer just released an evocative collection of short stories called The Only Thing I Have, which captures the daily triumphs and tragedies of urban life in Vancouver.

Other young writers involved include Leannae Prain and Mandy Moore who just published the subversive book, Yarn Bombing: The Art of Crochet and Knit Graffiti. Bring your knitting needles for a crash course.
