to be the most secure man on the planet -- how else could he deal with being "the guy" for a maniacally run front office like the one in Washington? This seems like an appropriate question because, after all he's been through rumor-wise over the past few seasons, there's a new trade possibility on the horizon. Specifically, Campbell is being rumored as part of a trade between the Redskins and the Bills, in exchange for defensive back Donte Whitner and a draft pick. That's according to former-and-current WaPo BFF's Jason Reid and Jason La Canfora (the latter now at the NFL Network).
However, despite the apparent distaste that Washington management has for Campbell, the rumor seems to be just that and unlikely to ever get very close to fruition. FanHouse's sources at the combine have confirmed exactly what Reid mentioned: a trade seems very unlikely.
Adding to the implausibility of the deal is the fact that the 'Skins can tender Campbell for less than $4 million and not worry about showing their hand for the upcoming NFL Draft (trading Campbell would most certainly lock them into either Sam Bradford or Jimmy Clausen).
In other words, don't expect this to happen ... although that shouldn't incline anyone to believe that Campbell will be a Redskin forever.
