Manu Ginobili Blocks Kevin Durant and His Scoring Streak

This blocked shot by Manu Ginobili certainly stands on its own as a basketball play, but let me set the scene anyway.

Kevin Durant entered Wednesday's game on a 29-game streak in which he had scored at least 25 points. The Thunder are locked in a battle for a playoff seed with the Jazz, Mavericks, Suns, Blazers, Rockets and, yes, these Spurs.

The Spurs came in with two straight losses ... to Philadelphia and Detroit. The rodeo trip, usually strong, ended 4-4. Manu's slinking off to old age (figuratively speaking) has been a concern all year; he, a phenomenally athletic player in years past, just couldn't keep up with the freaks of today.

The game is winding down, Durant has 21, the Spurs maintain a one-point lead. Durant is on the break, all limbs locomotive, sights set on a monster transition dunk for the lead.

Enter Manu.

The Spurs went on to win. Durant didn't get to 25. Manu's myth is reborn.
