Shaun Livingston is often cited as the guy people most want to see make a comeback in the NBA. After suffering a horrific knee injury, he clawed his way back into shape and back into the league, signing with the Heat last season. Unfortunately, he didn't stick, getting traded to the Grizzlies, waived, signed by the Thunder and then waived again earlier this season. But as of Friday, he has a new chance. The Wizards have signed Livingston to a 10-day contract, reports Michael Lee on Twitter. He's expected to be in uniform for their game against the Knicks. Lee points out that this essentially makes the Wizards "Clippers East," with five players on roster with Clipper ties. I'm sure that doesn't make Wizard fans vomit up whatever is left in their stomachs at this point.
Still, this presents a unique reclamation opportunity for both Livingston and the Wizards. With two months left in a disastrous season, maybe these stories of redemption are a way to pull something positive out of an ugly situation, if Livingston can manage to get minutes and a contract for the rest of the year.
Even if he doesn't, though, I think you can expect to see him again. There's simply no quit in the kid.
