Jared Dudley (Hilariously) Discusses His Second Dunk of the Season

PHOENIX -- Jared Dudley has been a critical role player in the Suns' success this season. He has a high basketball IQ, knocks down three-pointers at a clip of over 45 percent, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time.

Dudley is not, however, the most athletic player in the world. He can dunk the basketball, but not without a lot of space to give him time to get up to the rim. His teammates are aware of this, and teased Dudley at the beginning of the year that they were setting the over/under for his in-game dunks at two -- for the entire season.

With 22 games to go, Dudley already has himself a push. He got his second dunk of the season in Friday's win against the Clippers, on a breakaway in the second half where he was all alone, and threw it down with two hands.

Dudley was, of course, happy to break it down for us after the game.

"I was at least 35 inches off the ground," Dudley joked. "At LEAST 35. I slowed up because I wanted to make sure the rim came down so it could be declared a technical dunk. I was on the break, I was thinking about throwing it off the glass, but I said you know what, I'm gonna relax, and I'm just going to take the two-hand."

Dudley's voice is much more entertaining than mine in describing this monumental event, so listen to our exchange for yourself in the audio clip below.
