Jason Richardson Blows Game-Tying Dunk

Jason Richardson is a two-time dunk champion. Unfortunately, unlike in the dunk contest, if you miss in a two-point game on a game-tying dunk to a conference rival who has historically owned you, you don't get another run at it.

Richardson would sure like another run at it.

Richardson missed a game-tying dunk on a Suns fast break that would have tied it up with the Spurs Sunday. Instead, Manu Ginobili corralled the rebound, and the Spurs were on their way to a 113-110 win, one that feels like it might be a recovery point for the Spurs.

The Suns still had a crack at it, but Steve Nash randomly gave up the (other) game-tying shot from the arc in an attempt to find a wide-open Channing Frye. But there wasn't enough time, and the Suns could not claw back. Below, take a look at the missed dunk laughed at around the world.

You could argue that he should have dunked it with both hands. You could argue that it was just the same as a missed layup. You could argue that he should have just tried for a layup. You could even argue that there are forces at work greater than this world that keep the Spurs owning the Suns in big game after big game.

Talk about the bounce not going your way.
