Angels Look to Aybar to Fill Holes

This offseason the Angels parted ways with big names Chone Figgins, John Lackey and Vladimir Guerrero. When Figgins left to sign with the Mariners, he left a big hole at the top of the order.

While they did bring in Joel Pineiro and Hideki Matsui, it's clear that the organization thinks they have plenty of internal options to replace the lost production.

One key player in that plan is shortstop Erick Aybar, who hopes to continue to raise his on-base percentage in his new role.
