NBA Playoff Matchup Matrix

In the NBA playoffs, matchups matter. Ask Avery Johnson, who watched his 67-win Mavericks get tossed off the summit by the No. 8 seed Warriors in 2007's first round.

As the regular season hits its stretch run and playoff hopefuls are pared down to a manageable bunch, we'll keep you informed of how all the contenders in each conference match up against one another. Our matchup matrix shows each team's record against each of the conference's other playoff potentials. (For instance, Cleveland has gone 2-1 against Orlando, 2-0 against Atlanta, etc.)

We'll update daily -- these teams have plenty more games against each other. Note the cells in red: this is where there's either potential for a first-round upset (Charlotte over Cleveland?) or a perceived matchup problem between two teams which may face off in the first round (such as the Spurs and Jazz).
