Ukrainian-born, 38-year-old nearly 6-foot-8 WBC heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko, will defend his crown against 31-year-old, Polish-born, nearly 6-3, Albert Sosnowski of Brentwood Essex England on May 29 at Veltins Arena, Gelsenkirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, his promotional company, K2 announced on Tuesday.

Klitschko (39-2, 37 knockouts) is coming off of December's unanimous decision over 30-year-old American contender Kevin Johnson (22-1-1, nine KOs), of Atlanta, whom Klitschko simply outworked over the course of 12 rounds.

In facing Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs), Klitschko will be making the fourth defense of the belt he earned with an October, 2008, eighth-round knockout of Samuel Peter -- this after having been out of the ring for four years.

"I'm very happy to have my next fight in Germany again. Their arena, Gelsenkirchen and the fans there are very special. I experienced that last year when my brohter, Wladimir, had his fight there in front of 61,000 spectators. The atmosphere was simply electrifyinge," said Klitschko.

"I saw Sosnowski's fights on DVD, and must admit, that he is a very experienced, quick, and tough opponent," said Klitschko. "He will do anything to get my belt, but I promise that this is not going to happen."

Klitschko had been attempting to negotiate a deal to face Russia's former WBA champ, Nikolay Valuev (54-2, 34 KOs), who stands seven foot and weighed 316 pounds when he was dethroned by England's David Haye (23-1, 21 KOs) in November.

"This is a dream come true. I am already in training and suddenly comes the once in a lifetime chance to fight Klitschko. I want to thank him and his team, to give me that opportunity, which I will defnitely take," said Sosnowski.

"For me, Klitschko is already over the hill. I know that I am the underdog for everybody, but I tell you, Klitschko will regret that he picked me," said Sosnowski. "Many Polish and Germans with Polish roots live in the Gelsenkirchen area, and I hope that they will support me. I will be the first Polish heavyweight champion of the world."
