WWE vs. TNA Monday Night Head-to-Head Ratings

According to detailed reports coming in from PWInsider.com, the Monday night head-to-head showdown between World Wrestling Entertainment's Raw and TNA Wrestling's iMPACT! programs have, so far, not amounted to a war. iMPACT! did a .98 rating, rounded up to a 1.0, with 1,361,000 viewers, while Raw did hours of 3.25 and 3.5 for a 3.4 rating, drawing 5,091,000 viewers. The combined 4.4 wrestling audience didn't come close to the last time the programs went head-to-head, January 4th, where Raw did a 3.6 and iMPACT! did a 1.5 for a combined audience of 5.1.

The 1.0 rating has to be seen as a disappointment, considering that the show featured the in-ring returns of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair. However, sources at Spike TV are remaining optimistic, claiming that demographics for 18-34 were good and that the Thursday audience for iMPACT! followed them over to Monday nights, a "first step" in a larger goal for the show.

Ted Linhart, Vice President of Program Research at USA Network, was quick to comment as well, slamming the competition on his Twitter account. "Not much of a Monday Night "War". RAW trounced TNA by 275% w/ total viewers. Also Impact much lower than the test Monday ep in early Jan."

Quarter-hour ratings for each program are listed below, courtesy of ProWrestling.net. Interestingly enough, TNA's highest-performing segment featured Sting and Rob Van Dam. "RVD" was a top trending topic on Twitter at the time. When the repeat of Hogan and Flair later in the show happened, the ratings took a dive.
