HEMET, Calif. (March 10) -- Two teenagers wanted in connection with the death of a 16-year-old boy who was dismembered and burned in a backyard bonfire have been arrested in Mexicali, Mexico, the Riverside Press Enterprise reported.

Felicia Sharp, 17, and her boyfriend, Jose Campos, 18, have been missing since mid-November when police began piecing together the circumstances surrounding the death of Adrian Rios. Rios is believed to have been killed during a football game party attended by at least five people, according to the Press Enterprise.

Jose Campos, left, and Felicia Sharp were arrested Tuesday in Mexicali, Mexico. Campos has been charged in the killing and dismemberment of a 16-year-old boy in Hemet, Calif. Sharp was wanted for questioning in the case.

Campos is charged with first-degree murder and Sharp is wanted for questioning as an accessory to murder, the Press Enterprise reported. Detectives attended an extradition hearing in Mexico today and returned with the teenage fugitives. It is unclear how they were captured, but police are saying they had the cooperation of the Mexican police.

Campos will be tried as an adult but does not face the death penalty. Mexico will not aid in deportation of defendants charged with capital murder.

The investigation began when Rios' mother reported her son missing and went to Campos' house to find him. She found a bloody shoe.

Police responded and found evidence in a backyard fire pit that included charred bone fragments, a foot, bloody clothing, and a machete, the Press Enterprise reported. When questioning neighbors, detectives were told that a foul-smelling, out-of-control bonfire was on the property the night of the Nov. 15 football party.

Neighbors Matt and Irene Miller told the Press Enterprise that Campos and Rios were on their property that night and appeared to be intoxicated and doused with pepper spray. They told the couple that someone had sprayed them during a fight.
