We all know that Erin Andrews is the latest ESPN personality to take to the stage on Dancing With the Stars. But aside from a clip of her career as a Florida Gator dance squad member, have any of us really seen her dance moves? Perhaps Erin felt the need to get in a little practice during the ACC tournament on Saturday.
Either that or she knows better than to turn down Dick Vitale's giddy advances. As tipoff neared for the Miami-Duke ACC semifinal and one of the student bands blared out Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer, Dick Vitale couldn't contain himself.
Andrews, displaying the enthusiasm of a seventh-grader being dropped off at school in her dad's 30-year-old jalopy, gamely makes a few half-hearted twirls. Meanwhile, Vitale danced with the same enthusiasm with which he does everything. And why wouldn't he? His beloved Blue Devils secured a No. 1 seed and he just can't contain himself.
The anti-Vitale crowd is disappointed that the security staff assigned to Andrews didn't take out Dickie V for improper contact. After all, as any good basketball fan knows, two hands on the body equals an automatic foul. In Vitale's defense, he's just fulfilled the fantasy of every middle-aged man in America.
